What We Do

Since the program’s foundation in 2013, it has trained orthopedic residents in broad-based general orthopedics which allows graduates to practice independently immediately.

About the Valley Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program

The Valley Orthopedic Surgery Residency offers a great set of faculty, fantastic facilities, and a wide range of surgical pathology to meet all training requirements. The educational success speaks for itself - the program consistently scores in the 95th and above percentile nationwide among both allopathic and osteopathic programs on the annual Orthopedic In-Training Exam.

Training primarily occurs at two ACS-certified Level-II trauma centers in Doctors Medical Center and San Joaquin General Hospital, where there is significant exposure to a wide variety of orthopedic injuries, robust arthroscopic practice, and complete state-of-the art surgical services that include neurosurgery and spine surgery. Extensive exposure to sports medicine, arthroplasty, and orthopedic oncology is also achieved through rotations at multiple Kaiser Permanente medical centers. Pediatric orthopedic training is acquired with Valley Children's Healthcare, where a six month rotation fulfills the requirements of both the AOBOS and ABOS board certification exams.

Finally, the beautiful surroundings in Northern California make this a premier location for residency training.
